Native Tennessean, Jim
Barlow, invites you to come aside to experience the quiet
beauty of God’s handiwork on the canvas of nature. Fleeting
moments of glory in nature captured to share with you…these
are Windows to Nature of Tennessee. Jim invites you to share
the wonders of our great state of Tennessee and the world
beyond. While the Cumberland Plateau and the Great Smoky
Mountains are the backyard of his work, his vision carries
him beyond to capture other great wonders of nature as well.
You will enjoy such
tropical places as “Painted Dawn of Kauai”, “Rays of
Splendor over Lanai”, as well as jewels of Caribbean delight
where his travels have taken him with his family. From fiery
sunsets, moonlit vistas, and cloud-carpeted valleys as seen
from atop Mt. Leconte, to serene mountain streams and
tumbling waterfalls; from the breathtaking beauty of a
woodland floor carpeted with fragrant blooms, to the breath
of a single fragile wildflower…these and more await you,
hopefully inspiring you to come aside from your busy pace,
drawn to your Creator, Who wants to get to know you…that you
may “Be still, and know that He is God.” (Psalm 46:10).
Beckoning you to a
simpler, less hurried time, I want to share my love for
nature and the God Who made it as you experience glimpses of
His Majesty through these windows to nature:
“The heavens declare
the glory of God; the skies proclaim His handiwork!” (See
Psalm 19:1-4 and Romans 1:19-20.) “Ask the animals, and they
will teach you, and the birds of the heavens, and they will
tell you. Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you; and
let the fish of the sea declare to you.” (Job 12:7-8.)
It is my hope that you
will experience the majesty of these special moments,
observing season and light interplay to show how each moment
has a special beauty all its own, never seen before and
never to come again. Enjoy each moment as an expression of
God’s delightful artistry and laughter from the first spring
bluets through the glorious climax of colors when He brushes
the landscape with autumn strokes! Then puts it to rest for
awhile under His dazzling blanket of winter white!
